NOSHOK
Gauges, switches, transducers, diaphragm seals, and needle valves. Made in the USA.
NOSHOK builds pressure, level and temperature instrumentation plus the hardware that goes with it: gauges, transducers and transmitters, switches, diaphragm seals, needle and manifold valves, thermowells and digital indicators. The line is broad enough that a single supplier can cover a whole gauge and instrument scope, including the seals and valves that usually get bought separately. NOSHOK describes itself as a measurement solutions company.
What we carry, by measurement
Pick what you’re measuring.
The largest part of the line, spanning mechanical indication through to electronic transmitters and switches.
Pressure gauges
Dial indicating, digital, differential and sanitary gauge styles.
Use it whenStart from who reads it and where. Dial indicating is the default for a local reading with no power. Go digital when the resolution of a needle is not enough or the reading gets recorded. Go sanitary when the connection has to be crevice-free for clean-in-place, and differential when the value of interest is the difference across a filter or an element.
Pressure transducers and transmitters
Industrial, OEM, hazardous location and sanitary variants, plus combined transmitter and switch models.
Use it whenPick the variant on the environment and the commercial model, not on the range. OEM versions are for designing into equipment at volume, industrial for plant installs, hazardous location when the area is classified, sanitary for hygienic process. The transmitter and switch combination saves a device when you need both a signal and a local trip.
Pressure switches
Mechanical pressure switches and electronic options.
Use it whenChoose mechanical when the requirement is a simple, powerless trip that will sit untouched for years, and electronic when the setpoint needs to be adjusted precisely, displayed, or changed without breaking into the process.
Continuous level transmitters and point level switches, offered in the same industrial, hazardous and sanitary framing as the pressure line.
Level transmitters
Continuous level transmitters in industrial, hazardous location and sanitary variants.
Use it whenSpecify a transmitter when inventory, batching or trending is what the customer actually needs. Match the variant to the area classification and the hygiene requirement first, then the range.
Level switches
Point level switches in industrial variants.
Use it whenUse a switch for high and low alarms, pump control and dry-run protection. It is the cheaper and more robust answer whenever the requirement is a single point rather than a value.
Mechanical thermometers through to RTDs and transmitters, plus the thermowells that protect them.
Bimetal thermometers
Bimetal dial thermometers across the 100, 150, 300 and 350 series.
Use it whenUse these for a local temperature reading with no power and nothing to maintain. The series choice comes down to dial size, stem construction and accuracy class, so pick on what the operator has to read and how the well is built.
Vapor actuated remote dial thermometers
Remote dial indicating thermometers for extended distance applications.
Use it whenReach for these when the dial has to be somewhere the operator can reach but the sensing point is not, for example a tank bottom or an overhead line. It avoids running an electrical signal for a purely local reading.
Electronic temperature instruments
Platinum resistance transmitters, compact transmitters, powered and battery-operated digital indicators, and electronic indicating temperature transmitter and switch models.
Use it whenGo electronic when the control system needs the value, or when one device should both display and trip. The combined transmitter and switch is the efficient answer where a mechanical thermostat plus a separate transmitter would otherwise be specified.
Industrial RTDs
Probe type and connection head RTD assemblies, with RTD transmitter options that convert the resistance to a standardised signal.
Use it whenChoose a connection head assembly when the sensor will be replaced in service or when a transmitter should sit at the process rather than in a cabinet. Probe type suits fixed installs and OEM equipment.
Thermowells
Protective wells in threaded, socket weld, weld-in and flanged configurations, shielding temperature instruments from harsh process conditions and high-velocity flow.
Use it whenAlways ask about the well, not just the sensor. The well determines whether the sensor can be pulled without shutting the process down, and high-velocity flow is a real failure mode, so it needs to be part of the selection rather than an afterthought.
The install hardware around an instrument. NOSHOK states it helium leak tests every valve, and that carbon steel models are zinc nickel plated for corrosion resistance.
Needle valves
Standard and large bore needle valves in hard or soft seat and tip designs.
Use it whenUse a needle valve to isolate and to throttle an instrument connection so a gauge is not slammed on startup. Choose soft seat for tight shutoff at lower pressure and hard seat for durability and higher pressure or throttling duty. Go large bore when you need to blow the line down rather than just isolate.
Manifold valves
Block and bleed configurations in hard or soft seat designs.
Use it whenSpecify a manifold when a transmitter has to be isolated, equalised and vented for calibration without draining the process. On differential service it is not optional, because you cannot zero a DP transmitter safely without one.
Diaphragm seals, replaceable
Seals whose diaphragm can be changed out, including Type 10 and 10H for standard and elevated pressure, Type 10L for reduced pressure, and Type 40 in a flow-through annular style.
Use it whenChoose replaceable when the diaphragm is the part expected to wear or foul and the customer wants to service it rather than replace the whole seal. Type 40 flow-through is for slurries and viscous product where a pocket in front of the diaphragm would plug.
Diaphragm seals, non-replaceable
Permanent welded seal designs including Type 5 all non-metallic, Type 12 sanitary clamped style, Type 20 front flush, Type 25 and 25H, Type 29 for high volumetric displacement, and Type 30, 30H and 30L.
Use it whenChoose non-replaceable for lower cost and a fully sealed assembly where nobody is going to service it. Type 20 front flush is the answer for product that would sit and cure in a recess, Type 12 for hygienic clamped connections, and Type 5 where no metal may touch the process at all.
Assemblies and connectors
Application-focused transmitter and diaphragm seal assemblies, plus stabilized connectors with optional integral block valves and dielectric kits.
Use it whenBuy the assembly rather than the parts when the same measurement recurs across a plant. NOSHOK's own framing is that these become repeatable building blocks you deploy plant-wide, which is what makes maintenance and spares manageable. Specify a dielectric kit where dissimilar metals would otherwise set up galvanic corrosion.
Displays that attach to or accompany a transmitter, mostly loop-powered or line-powered panel devices.
1800 Series
Attachable loop-powered digital indicators that connect to transmitters using 4-20 mA signals.
Use it whenAdd one of these when a transmitter already installed needs a local reading and there is no power at the point. Because it attaches to the transmitter, it avoids a panel and a separate enclosure.
1950 Series
Compact smart system digital indicators.
Use it whenUse the compact version where space is the binding constraint and the full smart system feature set is not needed.
2000 and 2100 Series
Smart system intelligent digital indicators.
Use it whenStep up to these when the indicator itself should do scaling, configuration or intelligent functions rather than just show the raw loop value.
2200 Series
Dual display digital indicators accepting thermocouple, RTD, current, voltage and resistance inputs.
Use it whenChoose this when two values need to be visible at once, or when one part number has to cover both temperature and process inputs across a site. The wide input range is the reason to standardise on it.
IDE30 Series
Intelligent line powered panel meter.
Use it whenUse this where mains or control power is available at the panel and you want a full-featured meter rather than a loop-powered indicator.
A separate product line within NOSHOK rather than an instrumentation category.
KING Filters
High purity compressed air filters and desiccant dryers.
Use it whenBring this up when instrument air quality is the underlying problem, for instance positioners and pneumatic instruments failing from moisture or oil carryover. It is a different conversation from measurement, but it is often the actual root cause.
