How we work

The people behind every quote, project, and support call.

Rust is a relationship business. The teams below understand both your application and the industrial automation world it lives in. Here is how each one works, and what you can count on from them.

Call and you'll reach someone who already gets it

Inside Sales Engineers

Our Inside Sales Engineers are the heart of day-to-day sales: the people who know your application, your account, and what it takes to keep your process running. They size and select the right product, build your quotes, manage your orders, and stay with you before and after the sale. No phone trees, no order-takers, and no starting over every time you call. That know-how is earned: real training, manufacturer certification, and years of hands-on work in the field and around your process. The team moves as one, with a shared workflow and clear ownership, so a question lands with the right person fast and you get an answer rather than a runaround.

What you can expect
  • Someone who looks forward to helping you and your team, not a ticket queue
  • Sizing and selection help before you order, not after
  • One shared workflow with the field team, so nothing slips between office and plant

Outside Sales Engineers

Our Outside Sales Engineers bring Rust's expertise to your site, walking the floor with you, seeing the application in context, and matching what's really happening to the right solution. They handle site visits, application reviews, and the long-term partnering that keeps your operation a step ahead. In their territory your account isn't a number, it's a relationship. Because the outside and inside teams share one workflow, the field and the office stay in lockstep: nothing falls through the cracks between a handshake on site and the order back at the office.

What you can expect
  • An Outside Sales Engineer who owns your account and knows your site and your history
  • Application reviews on your plant floor, not over email
  • The full weight of our factory and field resources behind every visit

The big jobs, handled from spec to delivery

Projects Team

Long lead times, dozens of moving parts, vendors to wrangle, and a schedule that can't slip. That's the work our Projects team lives for. They take it on from the start, specifying the job from your drawings, specs and requirements so it's right before a single part is ordered, then carry it through procurement and delivery. This team gives the same high-quality attention whether your project has 10 tags or 10,000. Tracking lead times, staging releases so material lands when you need it, coordinating vendors, flagging risks early: they handle the moving parts so you don't have to. Every project has a clear owner and a live status, and you hear from us with updates before you have to ask.

What you can expect
  • One team, one owner, and one clear picture of where your project stands
  • Releases staged so material arrives when you actually need it
  • Dates you can build a plan around, because we know the real lead times

Service Team

Our Service team is a full, ever-growing field service organization (technicians, field service engineers, service managers and coordinators) with one job: keep your instrumentation running and your plant compliant. They stay with your equipment for its entire life. Field commissioning gets new instruments installed and dialed in right, and on most Endress+Hauser devices letting our team commission it extends the factory warranty from one year to three. Calibration comes to you, covering flow, pressure, temperature, level and liquid analysis to ISO 17025 standards, on Endress+Hauser and third-party instruments alike, so your assets never leave the site. Add diagnostics and troubleshooting, lab calibration and repair, Dräger fixed gas detection service, and hands-on training at the Process Training Units.

What you can expect
  • Urgent and down-equipment calls triaged first, with the right resource sent
  • On-site calibration to ISO 17025: your assets never leave the plant
  • Your device configurations documented and saved, so a replacement is rebuilt to spec

Order management as a job, not an afterthought

Customer Service Team

At most firms in our industry order management gets squeezed in between a salesperson's other multitude of jobs. We built a team for it, people whose entire focus is making sure your orders flow smoothly from the moment you place them: status, shipping and tracking, returns, documentation, and a real answer whenever you call. Anyone who has lived through equipment orders, job-site deliveries and lead times that move knows how quickly things get complicated. Dates shift, parts come from a dozen directions, and details matter. A dedicated team on it, instead of an already stretched salesperson juggling it on the side, is the difference between an order you have to chase and one that simply shows up right. Customer Service sits with Accounting and Admin, which is why a question about an invoice and a question about a delivery date get answered by people a few desks apart.

What you can expect
  • A clear owner on every open item, so nothing gets lost in the shuffle
  • Straight, accurate answers on status, not a guess
  • People who understand how the order connects to your receiving and procurement

Stock only counts once it is out the door

Warehouse and Logistics

Receiving, stocking, picking and shipping. Deep local inventory is only worth something if it leaves the building accurately and on time, which is what this team owns. They put hands on the material, check it against the order before it ships, and know where things are without looking it up.

What you can expect
  • Orders picked against what you actually asked for, checked before they ship
  • Stock that is where the system says it is
  • Shipping and tracking details you can hand straight to your receiving team

Behind the scenes

And the teams you may never call.

A rep firm only feels effortless when the work behind it is handled. These teams keep the orders, the systems, the shelves and the people running.

IT & Systems

Builds and runs the tools the rest of the company works in, from the systems that track your order to the ones that put real inventory and pricing in front of the person helping you.

Accounting

Invoicing, credit and the paperwork that has to be right. If something on an invoice doesn't match what you agreed, this is the team that sorts it.

Marketing

Line-card and product communication, trade shows, training events, and the technical content that helps you find the right product before you ever call.

HR & Workforce Enablement

Hiring, onboarding and the manufacturer training and certification that keeps our technical depth real rather than claimed.

Work with a team that picks up the phone.

Whatever stage you're at (spec, quote, order, or startup), there's a Rust team ready for it.
