Eurotherm
Temperature, power and process control, measurement and data recording. A Watlow company since 2022.
Eurotherm covers the control side of a thermal process: the controller that holds the setpoint, the power controller that feeds the heaters, and the recorder that proves what actually happened. It is one of the few lines where you can specify the loop controller, the SCR power stage, the sensor, and the compliance-grade data record from a single source. Eurotherm is now a Watlow company, and Watlow's heater and controller families are listed alongside Eurotherm's own on the same site.
What we carry, by measurement
Pick what you’re measuring.
Single-loop panel controllers up to multi-loop and programmer platforms; the split that matters is loop count and whether you need to run a recipe.
EPC2000 and EPC3000 programmable controllers
Eurotherm's current programmable controller families.
Use it whenStart here on new single-loop and small multi-loop work -- these are the current generation, so they are what to spec when you are not constrained by matching an existing panel.
2200, 2400, 3200 and 3500 controllers and programmers
Long-running Eurotherm panel controller and programmer families still listed on the site.
Use it whenQuote these when you are matching an installed base -- a plant with a panel full of 2400s or 3200s usually wants the same footprint and the same operator behavior rather than a new platform.
2604 and 2704 advanced multi-loop controllers and programmers
Advanced process controller and programmer platforms for multi-loop duty.
Use it whenUse it when one instrument has to run several interacting loops and a stored program, rather than putting in several single-loop controllers and coordinating them externally.
Mini8 loop controller
A multi-loop controller with no front panel, designed to be configured and driven over a network.
Use it whenUse it when a machine needs a lot of loops in a small DIN-rail footprint and the operator interface lives somewhere else -- an HMI or SCADA -- so paying for a display per loop makes no sense.
nanodac recorder and controller
A combined graphic recorder and controller in one instrument.
Use it whenUse it when you need both control and a trustworthy record at a small number of points and do not want to buy and wire two devices. It is the smallest step into Eurotherm's data-integrity story.
piccolo P104, P108, P116 controllers
Compact single-loop controllers in small DIN panel sizes.
Use it whenCost-sensitive OEM and simple single-loop duty where a full programmable controller is more than the machine needs.
Paperless graphic recorders and data loggers -- this is where Eurotherm's compliance and audit story lives.
6100A and 6180A paperless graphic recorders
Panel-mount paperless graphic recorders with a graphical display, in two panel sizes.
Use it whenThe mainstream choice when a batch, a furnace, or a validated process has to produce a secure electronic record with a trend an operator can read at the panel. Pick 6180A over 6100A when you want the larger screen and more channels.
6100E paperless graphic recorder
A further recorder in the 6000 series family.
Use it whenConsider it when 6100A capability is more than the point count justifies. Confirm the channel count and options against the datasheet before quoting.
versadac scalable data recorder
A modular, scalable data recorder that grows by adding I/O.
Use it whenUse it when the channel count is large, spread out, or not final -- you scale the I/O instead of buying a bigger recorder. Good fit for a plant that keeps adding points.
6000XIO distributed graphic recorders
Distributed recorder I/O in the 6000 family.
Use it whenUse it when the measurement points are far from where the record and the display need to be, so running every sensor lead back to one panel is impractical.
D4T data logger with INTUITION
A data logger paired with Eurotherm's INTUITION software.
Use it whenUse it when the requirement is really data collection and reporting rather than a panel-mounted trend display.
TUS recorder and 6180 AeroDAQ
Two recorders Eurotherm lists by application name rather than by hardware family.
Use it whenThese are the ones to raise when a customer is doing heat-treat survey and aerospace-spec thermal work -- but confirm the applicable specification and what the instrument is certified against with Eurotherm directly before committing.
The SCR and switching stage between the controller and the heaters. Eurotherm frames this as controlling electrical energy with thyristors, and as a way to manage load, supply fluctuation, and power factor -- not just to switch a heater on.
EPower controller
Eurotherm's high-end configurable SCR power controller platform.
Use it whenUse it on large or multi-zone electric heat where you need real load management -- sequencing zones, limiting demand, predictive load management -- and diagnostics on the heater circuits. This is the one to bring when the customer's complaint is about demand charges or nuisance breaker trips, not about temperature.
EPack and EPack Lite compact SCR power controllers
Compact SCR power controllers, with Lite as the reduced-feature version.
Use it whenUse it when you want proper SCR power control in a small panel footprint. EPack when you need the firing modes, limits, and diagnostics; EPack Lite when the duty is simple and the budget is tight.
EFit SCR power controller
A compact SCR power controller family.
Use it whenA space-constrained option where the panel will not accept a larger unit. Verify current rating and phase configuration against the load.
DIN-A-MITE A, B, C and D power controllers
Watlow's DIN-rail SCR power controller family, cross-listed on the Eurotherm site.
Use it whenThe workhorse for straightforward on-off or time-proportioning SCR duty on DIN rail. Reach for it when the requirement is simply to switch resistive heat reliably, without the configuration depth of EPower.
ESwitch power switch and solid state relays
A power switch and a range of solid state relays.
Use it whenUse these where you only need to switch the load, not modulate it -- and where the mechanical contactor's cycle life is the actual problem you are solving.
Where Eurotherm stops being an instrument and becomes the machine's controller.
E+PLC400 combination PLC
A combination PLC that puts Eurotherm's control loops and a PLC in one platform, supported by E+PLC software.
Use it whenUse it when a machine needs both real temperature control and sequencing or interlock logic, and you would otherwise be integrating a separate PLC with separate loop controllers.
T2550 and T2750 PACs
Programmable automation controllers for process applications.
Use it whenUse it on larger, redundant, or plant-scale thermal process control where a panel controller will not carry the loop count or the availability requirement.
Eycon 10 and Eycon 20 visual supervisors
Visual supervisor units combining control and operator display.
Use it whenUse it as the operator-facing supervisory layer on a Eurotherm process system when a full SCADA station is more than the process needs.
The measuring end, listed under Eurotherm's ancillary equipment category.
Mineral insulated and tube-and-wire thermocouples
Two thermocouple construction types.
Use it whenMineral insulated when the sensor has to be bent to route, sealed, and survive high temperature; tube-and-wire for more conventional straight installations. Construction, not just calibration type, is what usually decides.
RTDs and MgO insulated sensors
Resistance temperature detectors and MgO insulated sensor assemblies.
Use it whenRTDs where the process is inside the RTD range and accuracy and repeatability matter more than top-end temperature.
Carbon sensors and AP1 and AP2 in-situ carbon probes
Sensors and probes for measuring carbon potential in a furnace atmosphere.
Use it whenSpecifically for carburizing and atmosphere heat-treat furnaces, where you are controlling carbon potential and not only temperature. Nothing else on this list substitutes.
Thermowell assemblies, industrial and plastics-industry sensors
Thermowell assemblies plus sensors packaged for industrial and plastics processing service.
Use it whenThe plastics-industry versions are the ones to ask about on extruder and barrel work, where the mounting and lead style is specific to the machine.
Since the Watlow acquisition, Watlow's heater families appear alongside the Eurotherm controls -- which is what lets one quote cover heater, power stage, sensor, and controller.
FIREROD cartridge heater
Watlow's cartridge and insertion heater family.
Use it whenUse it for heating dies, platens, and metal blocks by inserting into a drilled hole. The fit in the bore is what determines heater life, so the hole tolerance matters as much as the wattage.
Immersion and circulation heaters, flange and screw plug
Immersion heaters that heat a fluid directly in a tank, and circulation heaters that heat fluid flowing through a vessel, both in flange and screw plug mounting styles.
Use it whenImmersion when there is a tank to heat in place; circulation when the fluid is already being pumped and you want to heat it in line. Screw plug for smaller vessels, flange for larger ones and higher ratings.
D SERIES and LDH SERIES duct heaters
Two duct heater families for heating moving air.
Use it whenFor process air and duct heating. Airflow has to be established before you energize these, so confirm the interlock scheme.
FLUENT in-line heater and ULTRAMIC advanced ceramic heaters
An in-line heater for fluids, and an advanced ceramic heater family.
Use it whenFLUENT for clean high-purity fluid heating in a flow path. ULTRAMIC where you need high watt density and fast response in a small ceramic element -- semiconductor and analytical equipment territory.
