Habonim
70+ years of industrial valves for oil & gas, chemical, pharma, and mining.
Habonim builds ball valves and pneumatic actuators for services where a general-purpose valve does not survive: cryogenic, high pressure, high temperature and abrasive, and clean or hazardous media like hydrogen, oxygen, ammonia and chlorine. Their industrial valves ship with what they call the Total HermetiX integrity package -- zero fugitive emission no maintenance stem sealing, double body sealing, fire safe, 100 percent tested, and 100 percent materials and processing back-tracking. Because a common center section takes a wide range of end connections, one valve family covers more configurations than usual, which is their argument for fewer spares.
What we carry, by measurement
Pick what you’re measuring.
The three-piece industrial line, available in top entry, trunnion mounted ball, and floating ball construction.
91, 92, 93, 94 Series
Habonim's standard three-piece industrial ball valve configurations.
Use it whenStart here for general industrial on-off duty when the spec calls for a fugitive-emission and fire-safe valve you can rebuild in the line. Confirm which of the four matches your pressure class and end connection.
47 Series and R47 Series
A three-piece industrial series and an alternative-design variant.
Use it whenThe 47 is the platform a lot of Habonim's other lines are derived from -- cryogenic C47, control N47, sanitary L47 all trace back to it. That is useful when a plant wants one valve geometry across several services.
26 Series
A specialized three-piece variant in the industrial line.
Use it whenAsk Habonim which service this variant was built for before substituting it for a 47 or 9x -- it is positioned as a specialized version, not a general alternative.
Habonim states they have been performing in the industry's most demanding cryogenic applications for the last three decades; all cryogenic models include the Total HermetiX Integrity Package.
Unidirectional cryogenic: C47, C26, C31, C32, C73, C74, C77, C78
The main cryogenic range, with long neck bonnets that insulate the stem seals from extreme cold and a no-trap cavity design -- a relief hole on the upstream sphere of the ball prevents pressure buildup in the cavity.
Use it whenThis is the default cryogenic selection when flow direction is fixed. The relief hole is why: trapped cryogenic liquid in the body cavity will vaporize and over-pressure the valve, so direction of installation is not optional here.
Bidirectional cryogenic: C52, C47-BD, C91, C92, C93, C94
Cryogenic valves using spring-loaded constructions rather than a directional relief hole.
Use it whenUse it when flow can go either way, or when you cannot guarantee the valve gets installed in the correct orientation in the field. That is a real risk on modular and marine work and worth the cost.
Cryogenic high pressure: C95, C96, C28
Cryogenic valves in Habonim's high pressure constructions.
Use it whenUse it when the service is both cold and high pressure -- LNG fueling and high-pressure air separation -- rather than trying to push a standard cryogenic valve past its class.
Multi-port cryogenic: DC47, C61, C62
Multi-port cryogenic valve configurations.
Use it whenUse it to replace two or three valves and the pipework between them with one body. On cryogenic service that also removes joints and heat-leak paths, which is often the bigger win.
Two separate severe-service ranges: one defined by pressure, one by temperature and abrasion.
High pressure trunnion mounted: 96 Series, 95 Series
Trunnion mounted ball valves; Habonim lists the 96 Series at 2 to 12 inch, Class 2500, 414 bar, and the 95 Series at 2 to 12 inch, Class 1500, 250 bar. The line is stated as covering gases and fluids control up to 1,000 bar (15,000 psi), with designs burst-proof tested for 4 times the maximal working pressure and designed and tested per EN 14432:2014.
Use it whenTrunnion mounting is what you want at these classes and larger sizes, because the ball is supported rather than floating on the seats -- floating construction gets impractical as pressure and size climb together.
High pressure 3-piece floating: 28 Series, 27 Series, 24 Series
Three-piece floating ball valves; Habonim lists the 28 Series at 1/4 to 8 inch, Class 2500, 414 bar, the 27 Series at 1/4 to 8 inch, Class 1500/2500, and the 24 Series at 1/4 to 1-1/2 inch, Class 2500, 414 bar. Bodies are made from forged or rolled bars sourced and stocked only from high quality mills, with a hybrid seat design giving higher metal seat stiffness and bubble tight shutoff (Rate A) at reduced operating torque.
Use it whenUse these for high pressure in smaller line sizes, where you still want three-piece in-line repairability. The hybrid seat is the point of interest: you normally trade tight shutoff against operating torque, and this is Habonim's answer to that tradeoff.
High temperature metal seated (MTM): Q Series, Z Series, W Series
Metal seated ball valves for high temperature and abrasive media, in floating and trunnion designs. Habonim lists Q Series up to 650 C (1200 F), Z Series up to 450 C (842 F) floating and up to 327 C trunnion, and W Series up to 260 C (500 F) floating and up to 200 C trunnion. HVOF chromium and tungsten carbide spray coatings are used up to 538 C (1000 F); above that, ASME B16.34 listed forged bar material construction. Each ball and seat sub-assembly is accurately machined, ground and then mate-lapped.
Use it whenSelect by temperature first -- W, then Z, then Q as it climbs. For severe abrasive service such as pulp and paper, ask about the Stellite option: Habonim specifies a minimum 1.5 mm thick hard Stellite coating for corrosion and abrasion resistance, which is a different problem than temperature alone.
Characterized-ball control valves Habonim describes as compact, lightweight and long-lasting, with step-less characterized pressure and flow control.
N47 three-piece floating control valve
Habonim lists it at 1/2 to 4 inch, up to 2250 psi.
Use it whenThe high-pressure member of the control range. Use it when the control valve has to sit in a high-pressure line and you still want three-piece serviceability.
N31 and N32 one and two-piece floating control valves
Listed at 1/2 to 8 inch, up to 290 psi (N31) and up to 750 psi (N32).
Use it whenThe larger-size, lower-pressure options. Choose between them purely on the pressure the line sees.
N73 and N74 two-piece floating control valves
Listed at 1/2 to 8 inch, up to 290 psi (N73) and up to 750 psi (N74).
Use it whenTwo-piece alternatives across the same size range -- pick these when the piping suits a two-piece body and in-line rebuild is not a requirement.
N77 and N78 floating control valves
Listed at 3 to 6 inch, up to 290 psi (N77) and 1/2 to 2 inch, up to 750 psi (N78).
Use it whenSize-focused options: N77 for the larger low-pressure lines, N78 for small lines at higher pressure.
V-ball and V-port trim options
Habonim offers V-Ball or V-Port designs in multiple shapes, including V-port with metal seat and ball downstream sealing. The line is credited with fast response times, wide rangeability, bubble-tight shutoff, high pressure drop capacity with straight-through flow, high Cv, large exhaust capacity, ease of maintenance and zero backlash.
Use it whenThe trim shape is the actual control decision, not the body -- get Habonim to size it against your flow curve. Reach for a characterized ball valve over a globe valve when you need high Cv and a straight-through path, and tight shutoff from the same valve that throttles.
Hygienic valves, plus valves cleaned and assembled for media where contamination or reactivity is the hazard.
Sanitary: 48 Series, R48 Series, L47 Series
The 48 Series is an ASME BPE compliant floating ball valve (1/2 to 6 inch, DN15 to DN150, up to Class 300, 50 bar, 750 psi); the R48 Series is an ASME BPE flush tank valve at the same size and pressure; the L47 Series is a 3A floating ball valve (1/2 to 2 inch, DN15 to DN50, Class 300). Habonim cites ASME BPE compliance, European Sanitary ISO/DIN tubing, FDA and EU standards, and offers FDA and USP Class VI compliant materials, electro-polished surface finishes on request, and purge and drain ports for CIP/SIP.
Use it whenUse the 48 for hygienic process lines, the R48 when the valve mounts flush at a tank outlet and you cannot leave a dead leg, and the L47 when the job is written to 3A rather than ASME BPE. Ask about the purge and drain ports if the line gets cleaned or steamed in place.
Hydrogen service valves
Valves Habonim states are designed and tested to provide safe and durable use within diverse hydrogen application, citing compliance with standards including ISO 19880-3:2018 for gaseous hydrogen fueling stations.
Use it whenUse it for hydrogen production, storage, and fueling. Hydrogen is not just another gas here -- material selection and stem sealing are the whole point, so do not substitute a standard industrial valve to save money.
Oxygen service valves
Valves for liquid and gaseous oxygen, cleaned and assembled with required measures for safe use in oxygen service equipment and to avoid valve contamination to the media purity.
Use it whenOrder the oxygen-service version whenever the valve sees oxygen. The cleaning and assembly procedure is what makes it safe, and it cannot be added in the field.
Ammonia and chlorine service valves
Valves specially prepared and cleaned to meet the requirements for safe operation of ammonia service equipment and media purity, and equivalently for chlorine service.
Use it whenSame principle as oxygen: specify the service at order time. These are prepared valves, not a material substitution you can make locally.
Steam W47P Series and vacuum V31 Series
Steam service valves in the W47P Series (1/4 to 16 inch, DN8 to DN400) and vacuum service valves in the V31 Series (same size range), both with pressure ratings per the base series used.
Use it whenUse W47P for steam duty rather than a general valve whose seats will not take the cycling; V31 where the valve has to seal against vacuum, which is a different sealing problem than pressure.
Habonim's own pneumatic actuators, which is why they sell automated packages rather than bare valves.
COMPACT actuator
A quarter-turn rack and pinion pneumatic actuator Habonim states doubles the torque of standard pneumatic actuators, using a proprietary four pinion design that generates torque around a centrally located pinion, giving double the power for the same size actuator or half the size. Sizes C15 through C90M, 44 to 116 psi (3 to 8 bar), compliant with EN 15714-3, ISO 5211 and VDI/VDE 3845. Four short spring sets give redundancy in case of spring failure.
Use it whenThis is the one to reach for when the actuated package has to fit somewhere a conventional actuator will not, or when you need faster stroke and lower air consumption on a large valve count. The spring redundancy is the argument on fail-safe service.
POWER COMPACT actuator
A pneumatic actuator using a patented four-piston scotch-yoke design that Habonim says combines the high-power scotch-yoke mechanism's maximal power and high start and end torques with the balance and compacticity of the four-piston mechanism, for almost 100 percent higher power-to-size ratio. Sizes C100 and C100M, 30 to 116 psi (2 to 8 bar); Habonim cites close to 7,500 Nm (66,000 in-lb) in a 64 cm (25 inch) body and testing for more than 250,000 cycles without maintenance.
Use it whenStep up to this when the valve needs high breakaway and seating torque -- large trunnion, metal seated, or high pressure valves -- and the COMPACT will not deliver it in the space available.
Fugitive emission bonnet (FE) and extended bonnet (EXT)
Two bonnet options in Habonim's accessory range.
Use it whenThe FE bonnet is what you point at when the site has an emissions or LDAR requirement. The extended bonnet is for insulated and cold service, where you need to move the stem seal away from the process temperature.
Spring return handle (SRH), lockable handle, locking device, gears
Manual operation and safety accessories.
Use it whenThe spring return handle is the dead-man option -- the valve closes when the operator lets go, which is what you want on sampling and loading points. Lockable handles and locking devices are for lockout-tagout and for valves that must not be operated casually. Gears when the valve is too large to turn by hand.
