H2scan
Hydrogen gas sensing and safety.
H2scan makes solid-state hydrogen sensors and the monitors, analyzers and displays built around them. The line splits three ways: area safety monitors that watch a room for a hydrogen leak, process analyzers that measure hydrogen concentration inside a process stream, and transformer monitors that read dissolved hydrogen in oil as an early indicator of a fault. The selling point across all three is that the sensing element is solid-state and self-calibrating, so the instruments are meant to run without the routine calibration and consumable replacement that hydrogen detection has traditionally required.
What we carry, by measurement
Pick what you’re measuring.
Fixed monitors that watch a space for hydrogen accumulation. Choose first by the area classification and the certification the site requires, then by mounting and how the signal gets back.
HY-ALERTA 5020 and 5021 solid-state area hydrogen monitor
Maintenance-free solid-state area monitor for battery rooms and energy storage facilities, with self-calibrating technology that H2scan states needs no calibration or board replacement over its operating life.
Use it whenUse it as the default in a battery room or energy storage building, especially where the site has been burned by the recurring calibration and sensor-replacement cost of conventional detectors. This is the one to lead with when the customer's real complaint is maintenance, not detection.
HY-ALERTA 5320 intrinsically safe hydrogen area monitor
Compact intrinsically safe area monitor with wall or ceiling mounting options, for environments where hydrogen leaks can be hazardous.
Use it whenUse it when the installation requires an intrinsically safe approach rather than an explosion-proof enclosure, and where a compact device has to go up on a wall or ceiling.
HY-ALERTA 2620 explosion proof area hydrogen monitor
Explosion-proof area monitor for hazardous locations, ceiling or wall mounted.
Use it whenUse it when the area classification calls for an explosion-proof enclosure. Between this and the 5320, the deciding factor is which protection method the site's electrical classification and the engineer's practice call for.
HY-ALERTA 600B fixed area hydrogen monitor
Fixed area monitor with RS422 capability that extends the interface between sensor and controller over a long distance.
Use it whenUse it when the sensor has to sit far from its controller -- the RS422 link is the reason to pick this one over the others, because it lets you put the electronics somewhere accessible and the sensor where the hydrogen would collect.
In-line and in-process hydrogen measurement, for electrolyzers, fuel cells and industrial process streams. This is concentration measurement for control and quality, not leak detection.
HY-OPTIMA 5232
Industrial hydrogen analyzer for chemical facilities, refineries and green hydrogen operations. H2scan describes it as the only hydrogen analyzer on the market able to provide at least ten years of self-calibration operation.
Use it whenUse it where a process needs a continuous hydrogen number and the plant cannot keep sending a technician out to calibrate. The ten-year self-calibration claim is the argument -- in a refinery or electrolyzer plant the lifetime maintenance cost usually dwarfs the instrument.
HY-OPTIMA 5330 IS Gen 5 analyzer family
Intrinsically safe variant built on the same self-calibrating solid-state technology as the 5232.
Use it whenUse it when the measurement point is in a hazardous area and the site wants intrinsic safety. Same technology as the 5232, so pick between them on area classification rather than on performance.
HY-OPTIMA 5030 series
General-purpose in-line analyzer using Gen 5 technology, described by H2scan as their most accurate, tolerant and affordable hydrogen process gas measurement for industrial markets.
Use it whenUse it as the general-purpose in-line choice for an unclassified industrial installation -- the volume option when you do not need intrinsic safety or an explosion-proof housing.
HY-OPTIMA 2700 series
Explosion-proof analyzer using solid-state sensing with non-consumable sensors, measuring hydrogen directly without cross-sensitivity to other gases.
Use it whenUse it in a classified area needing an explosion-proof housing, and specifically where a background of other gases has caused false or drifting readings with a less selective technology.
HY-OPTIMA 700B series
Real-time process analyzer emphasizing ease of use and interface flexibility for true process control.
Use it whenUse it when the hydrogen reading is going into a control loop rather than a log, and the integration options matter as much as the measurement.
Dissolved hydrogen in transformer oil is an early warning of internal faults. This range is aimed at utilities and at industrial plants with their own transformers, and it scales from a bare sensor to a fleet platform.
GRIDSCAN 5000 series hydrogen sensor
Standalone hydrogen sensor system for transformers, which H2scan states needs no calibration for up to ten years; offered for OEM and utility applications.
Use it whenUse it when the job is to add dissolved-hydrogen sensing to a transformer that already has a monitoring system, or when an OEM is building hydrogen sensing into their own equipment. Start here for a single asset.
GRIDSCAN 6000 multi-sense monitor
Combines four measurements in one monitor -- hydrogen, moisture, pressure and temperature -- for real-time transformer condition data.
Use it whenUse it when the customer wants transformer condition, not just a hydrogen number. One device and one penetration instead of four gets it specified on critical units.
HY-VAULT transformer monitor
Monitoring solution for underground network transformers, combining GRIDSCAN 5000 sensors with the AVO-1.
Use it whenUse it for underground network vaults, where access is difficult and expensive and the whole point is knowing the transformer's condition without opening the vault.
GSAO-1 analog output module and GSAO-2 control hub
GSAO-1 lets a GRIDSCAN 5000 feed legacy monitoring systems over an analog signal; GSAO-2 pairs with a GRIDSCAN 5000 or 6000 to add local and remote asset visibility.
Use it whenUse GSAO-1 when the utility's existing SCADA or monitoring system only accepts an analog input and replacing it is not on the table. Use GSAO-2 when you want local indication plus remote visibility built around the sensor.
Sentinel PRO IoT monitor
IoT monitor delivering transformer monitoring with system visibility and data analytics.
Use it whenUse it when the customer wants analytics and visibility as part of the monitor rather than something they build themselves.
H2cloud fleet monitoring platform
Cloud platform providing centralized, cyber-secure real-time visibility across a fleet of transformers.
Use it whenUse it once there are enough monitored transformers that somebody needs to see them all in one place and rank which asset to attend to first. This is the layer that turns individual sensors into a maintenance program.
How the reading gets seen locally, and how the sensing gets built into somebody else's product.
H2scan displays
Displays that integrate with H2scan hydrogen sensors for real-time access to data.
Use it whenAdd one when an operator or technician needs to read hydrogen at the asset rather than only through a control system.
Hydrogen solutions for OEM integration
Customizable hydrogen sensing available as sensor sub-assemblies through to full product assemblies.
Use it whenUse this route when a manufacturer wants hydrogen sensing inside their own equipment -- an electrolyzer skid, a battery enclosure, a transformer monitor -- and needs a sub-assembly rather than a finished instrument.
