TopWorx
Valve controllers and GO Switch position sensing.
TopWorx describes itself as a global leader in discrete valve control and GO Switch position sensing for the process industries. Two things make up the line: the GO Switch, a sealed magnetic sensor that detects like a proximity switch but functions like a limit switch, and the valve controllers built around it that report on-off valve position back to a PLC or DCS. The whole line is aimed at conditions that kill ordinary position sensors.
What we carry, by measurement
Pick what you’re measuring.
The core technology. A magnet moves an internal armature; a ferrous or magnetic target entering the sensing area diverts the magnetic flux field and closes the contacts. No exposed moving parts and nothing to wear on the target.
Model 11
The square-body GO Switch with sealed gold-flashed contacts, no-touch sensing and snap action response, available side- and end-sensing.
Use it whenuse it as the default GO Switch where you have room for the square body - it is the most widely applied model and the one to quote unless something about the mounting or the certification pushes you elsewhere.
Model 22
A lower-profile version of the square body carrying hazardous area certifications.
Use it whenuse it when the Model 11 will not physically fit and the location is classified.
Model 81
A square-body GO Switch offering end sensing and an optional double pole double throw contact arrangement.
Use it whenuse it when the target approaches the end of the switch rather than the side, or when you need two independent contact sets from one sensor.
Round models - 70 Series, including Models 73 and 75
Stainless steel round-body GO Switches for precision sensing.
Use it whenuse a round model when you need tighter repeatability on the sensing point or a threaded cylindrical mount, and when stainless construction is required for washdown or corrosion.
Model 7J
A GO Switch supplied as an integrated junction box assembly.
Use it whenuse it to cut field wiring labour - the sensor and its termination arrive as one item instead of a switch plus a separate box.
Model 36
A GO Switch offered in two- or four-switch configurations for the TX and TV enclosures.
Use it whenuse it when you are building up a TX- or TV-Series controller and need more than the standard switch count inside the same enclosure.
The packaged units that mount on top of a valve and carry the sensors, the local indication, the solenoid and the network connection. TopWorx groups them as D-Series, T-Series and an ESD line, all for on-off valves, plus one positioner family for modulating service.
DX-Series - Models DXP and DXS
The heavy-duty D-Series discrete valve controllers, built on GO Switch sensing, with corrosion-resistant construction, colour-coded twist-set cams for adjustment and an impact-resistant visible display. Certified IECEx, ATEX, UL, NEPSI, KOSHA, InMetro, PESO and EAC.
Use it whenuse the DX-Series when the environment is genuinely abusive or when a multinational owner wants one part number approved everywhere - the single-model global certification set is the reason people standardise on it.
TX-Series - Model TXP
A compact direct-mount switchbox in an aluminium enclosure that provides full functionality in a smaller package, available with a range of position sensors, integral solenoid valves and bus networks. Carries IECEx, ATEX and UL certifications.
Use it whenuse the TX-Series when the valve is small or crowded and a full D-Series controller is more enclosure than the job needs, and you still want hazardous-area rating and an integral solenoid.
TV-Series - Models TVL and TVF
Further T-Series direct-mount valve controller models.
Use it whenuse them where the TX-Series is close but the enclosure style or sensor arrangement does not fit; confirm the specific differences on the TVL and TVF product pages before quoting.
ESD Series
A valve controller line that provides partial stroke test solutions for emergency shutdown valves.
Use it whenuse it on safety shutdown valves that sit idle for long periods - partial stroke testing proves the valve will still move without taking the process down, which is the whole argument for the line.
PD Series Smart Valve Positioner
An intelligent positioner using contactless internal sensors, accepting a 4-20 mA loop signal, HART (on the PD200) or open and close discrete inputs, with an LCD interface allowing field calibration without opening the enclosure. Handles linear and rotary valves and single- and double-acting actuators.
Use it whenuse it when the valve has to modulate rather than just travel to the stops - and specifically when you want the same non-contact sensing philosophy as the rest of the TopWorx line, since there are no linkages to wear out.
Cross-references & replacements
